![]() The first group of pictures you are looking at is the125th Anniversary of the Friesians held in Leeuwarden Friesland. The show was a attended by thousands from all over the world. The master of ceremonies was the FPS president, Mr. Jaap van ger Meulen. He is the gentleman in the center of the arena. The picture with the ceramic back ground is the FPS booth. During one point of the show, there were over 130 Friesians in the arena at one time. That has to be as close to heaven as a person could get. Do you think the Dutch love their Friesian Horses? They have a statue in the center of Leeuwarden of them. Brenda finally got to meet Germ Bouma. The Bouma family has been breeding Friesians for years and Germ is the third generation breeder and on the next trip they will be able to travel around and look at colts.
Below are a few pictures from The last Friesian Extravaganza in Ogden Utah 2004. A few highlights were the Dutch Judges, the gentleman in white was the runner of the year in Holland. The lady with the hawk did a Lady Hawk demo. There were a couple of riders that did a tear jerking presentation on their Friesians to the music of Phantom of the Opera. The man and the woman in the presentation were both opera singers and I think it is the most elegant and fantastic part of the show. I was able to see it on tape. Tell them we want them to come to Mn for the Festival Friesians. The booths in the pictures belong to Friesian Connection, and Cheval Photography. There were many other booths in attendance. Some of which you will see next fall. Brenda had a great time covering this event. If you have something going on that pertains to the Friesians or FBH or FSH let her know. She will try to make it.
